Paradise Inn Food Review.

I was invited to Paradise Inn for a food review. It is actually a traditional Chinese restaurant that serves various Chinese dishes and of course their double boiled soup. Despite the popularity of their dishes, there is quite a huge demand for individual dishes for small group of customers. The individual portion is also considered as the main course. It comes with 20 selection of various food accompanied by the famous double boiled soup , fresh vegetables, 3 side dishes of the day and jasmine tea.

They have various selection of tea apart from the complementary Jasmine tea from the 20 dishes mentioned above. The teas are : Lily Flower & Forget Me Not, Lavender & Rosemary, Rose & Forget Me Not and Jasmine & Osmanthus. Apart from their names, you can never distinguish them apart. Apart from being just a drink as it is, the tea is rich in phytochemicals such as vitamins, terpenoids and flavonoids. Its health benefits is undeniable true.
So there are 4 categories of the main course : the Chargrilled, Hot Stone Bowl, Hot Steaming Basket and Mini Wok.

The first dish is the Supreme Seafood Fried Rice. It’s fried rice with assorted seafood and egg yolk. The seafood, well there’s just scallop and prawn and nothing else. Bummer. (RM 20.90++ )

This is what they call lap mei fan or Fried Rice with Chinese Sausage. For a typical lap mei fan, its edible and quite delicious although there are certainly room for improvement. The aroma of the Chinese sausage adds flavour to the rice although I must say it lacks a lil’ ‘wok hei’. ( RM19.90++)

I am quite a fan of Udon and fortunately this could easily be my favourite Udon. This is Stir-Fried Udon with Black pepper Sauce and Seafood. Despite it not being an authentic Udon way of cooking, the black paper sauce remedied the un-autenticness. It tasted really good. Worth the try ( RM 22.20)

This is the stir-fried beef slice with spring onion. Well I cant take beef but my boyfriend eats it like there’s no tomorrow so I guess its good. (: (RM23.90++)
clip_image014
Stir-fried sweet sour pork. The pork cutlet is fried perfectly before dipping it in the sweet and sour sauce. Its tender and crisp pork pieces is a perfect companion to the sweet and sour sauce. (RM 19.90++)

Steamed Minced Pork Patty with Salted Fish . Despite it being a normal delicacy to the Chinese, i find this pork patty a lil on a weird side. I suspect it is because of the salted fish. I bet anyone who loves salted fish would love this dish. As for me, ill give it a pass. (RM19.90)
P1040995
Taiwanese Style Stewed Chicken in Supreme Soy Sauce. This is the Taiwan stewed chicken glazed in supreme soy sauce topped on fluffy rice in a hot stone bowl. It easily topped my taste bud and i gave it an extreme 10 over 10 for being my favourite dish of the day.  Crispy and tasty (RM20.90++)
P1050005
Spicy seafood and home made sauce. This easily also becomes my favourite dish as the home made sauce is similar to asam. But, the prawn is infused with it and each bite brings out the sweetness of the prawn and the home made sauce. Recommended (RM23.90++)

P1050009
Crispy Fermented Pork Ribs. It tasted bland but not bad. Not my favourite dish too. (RM23.90++)

P1050019
Chicken Drumlets with Spiced Marination. It tasted salty and feels like it' is full of flavouring. The chicken meat is tender however there is no hint of any spice. It feels like an ordinary chicken drumlets. (RM20.90++)
