Takumi Japanese Fine Dining Restaurant, Grand Millennium Hotel.

by - Friday, December 20, 2013

MHB were being invited to a new restaurant named as Takumi Japanese Fine Dining Restaurant which is located in the Grand Millennium Hotel.

It has no relation with the previous Japanese restaurant which was over-priced for simple Japanese dishes.

We started off with this Appertizer platter - RM60.

It consists of Ika Karaage, Edamame, Koebi Karaage, Shishamo.
The items are allowed to order individually.
Of course, it is best paired with beer, Japanese beer.

A5 Grade Wagyu Shabu-shabu set - RM288 for 2 pax

I always love shabu-shabu.
I love the comfort feelings, the sharing of joy with your friends/family.
It was my 1st time trying Wagyu beef.

As I said, I am very concern about the "weird" taste of all kinds of food.
Each type of meat has its own unique(can be weird at times) taste.
Wagyu beef is....YUMMY!
I really must say that.

Anyway, just a little fact about Wagyu beef:
  • The cows are being provided with rich and varied diet
  • The cows are being offered beer to stimulate their appetite
  • No, there is no music for them. It was just a myth
  • Expensive beef(of course!)

Wagyu beef is being classified by grades which indicates the marbling of the beef.
A is the highest.
The higher the number, the fatter it is.

The best Shabu-shabu is always comes with the freshest ingredients with delicious clear broth.

Of course, Takumi serves lobsters too but you will need to book in advance as these are fresh lobsters and Takumi wants to ensure they can provide the freshest food to their customers.

Dragon Maki RM28(topped with fish roe)

Sapporo Beer.

Kinoko Tamago Toji RM48

Braised Wagyu beef with egg.
Tender, juicy wagyu beef with the soft egg.

Salmon O-Toro Tai Braised Duck RM38

Fresh ingredients always provide the best taste.

Yours truly, Sarah and Andy. (From left to right)

Cozy with a touch of Japanese environment.
Suitable for friends' outing and family gathering.

There is one whole list of Sake.
You may choose a suitable sake for yourself as your preference.

Besides Beer and Sake, there are other liquor available.
For example like this Famour XO by Martell.

Or even some Limited Edition liquor such as this one.

Affordable lunch set meals are available from RM26++ and with a lot of varieties, from Sashimi to Wagyu beef!

This is a great location for gathering with friends or family. It will be a great place for couples to celebrate their anniversary or any memorable celebration as private rooms are available for booking in advance.
